AMARA started after I saw Keinemusik live in Amsterdam.
That night stayed with me.
Not because I wanted to copy anything. That is never the point. But I left with this feeling that I wanted to create something with a deeper Afro house energy. Something warm, rhythmic, emotional and powerful. Something that goes under your skin, but still makes you move.
That is how AMARA began.
The name Amara has different meanings in different cultures. In Igbo, a Nigerian language, it is often connected with grace, mercy and kindness. For me, the word became the image of a proud African woman. Strong, elegant, emotional, full of dignity. Someone who closes her eyes on the dance floor and gives herself completely to the music.
That is also why the cover means so much to me.
A proud African woman. Eyes closed. Calm, emotional, happy, deep inside herself. She is not performing for anyone. She is not trying to look cool. She is just there, fully connected with the music.
For me, that is the whole feeling of the track.
AMARA is about giving yourself to the rhythm. Not thinking too much. Not controlling everything. Just turning the music up and letting your body follow it.
I produced the track alone, but the feeling behind it was very clear from the beginning: pride, strength, euphoria, emotion and joy.
I wanted the vocals to feel deep and human. Not just decorative. They had to carry emotion. And around them, I wanted the groove to keep moving — warm, rhythmic, hypnotic, but still melodic and emotional.
That is the balance I love.
A track can be powerful without becoming hard.
It can be euphoric without becoming empty.
It can be emotional without becoming sad.
That is what I tried to put into AMARA.
For me, this is a track for the dance floor, but also for your living room. Put it on loud. Close your eyes. Let the rhythm move you. Let the vocals pull you in. Let the music take over for a moment.
That sounds simple, but sometimes that is exactly what we need.
To stop thinking.
To feel the body again.
To become part of the music.
That is AMARA for me.
